36 hours in the lowcountry {charleston, sc}

on august 1st, i left nashville around 2pm and landed in charleston at 7pm for a 36 hour adventure to see brad and amanda tie the knot! leigh and derrick were also there for the wedding, so court came down for the weekend so all of us siblings could be together.

court fetched me at the airport and after a quick change, this handsome fellow scooped us up for a late dinner + drinks at star restaurant on upper king street. maury is a dear friend from high school who always make time to see me when i am in his town. we've been friends for over 10 years now and he still loves me anyways.

leigh + derrick + alex + steven joined us after while and i was so happy to see those boys.

{i love my sisters}

we woke up the next morning and headed to the one and only groucho's.

{capturing his first STP dipper}

after wandering around king street for hours and hours, we finally headed back to the hotel to get ready for main event!

the wedding was held at the island house on johns island. the rain held out and made for a beautiful wedding on the stono river. the food was awesome, the drinks were strong, and the band was amazing. amanda looked stunning and it was great seeing all of my friends that were also in attendance. i'm so glad i got to be there to celebrate!

11am the next morning it was wheels up and back to nashville. it was whirlwind of a weekend but just long enough to hug plenty of necks and laugh my butt off with my siblings. i'll see you in november, carolina!

meggy & walt got hitched! {trinity, nc}

last saturday, i headed to trinity, nc (outside of greensboro) to watch my college roomie tie the knot!

meagan and i met through an online service provided by the university to help you pick your roomie as a freshman. well i hit the jackpot with meggy, and we ended up living together 3 out of our 4 years in college. when i first met meagan on move in day, i had no idea how much fun we'd have our freshman year. you see, i didn't drink my freshman year, and well, meagan certainly did, so i got to experience a lot of very interesting things as the only sober person in our entire dorm. meagan taught me a lot about life that year - and a lot about drinking too. from losing her after our first home game, to peeing on my slippers, to writing herself notes from "drunk meagan" to "sober meagan," to crawling in bed with me when i got my heart broken, to pushing our twin beds together to make a king, we shared a lot that year. and there is no one else i can imagine going through the freshman pains with. we sure have come a long way!

 {sums up freshman year perfectly - sorry meggy - i had to}

meagan fell in love with the boy who lived across the street from us in college after being just friends for a few years, but none of us were surprised! minus the torrential downpour in the middle of their ceremony, the day was perfect! and hey, it will always be something we remember! i was so happy to be able to share this special day with meggy & walt!

nicole & charlee got hitched!

well, the day has finally come. our first college friend got married this past weekend in ole' holly hill, south carolina. nicole came to us by way of chi omega, and we're oh so thankful she did. we've spent the past 6 years taking very good care of her, tailgating with her wild parents, and drinking/laughing a lot. through nicole & charlee's relationship, we met our group of crazy college guy friends. needless to say, this weekend was a wild one!

because there aren't many hotels in the area, we all decided to rent a house. i think there were about 18 of us by the end of the weekend & it was so fun to have everyone in one place. after a painfully long rehearsal at the church, we headed to the rehearsal dinner. well, we stopped for a beverage at the house first and ended up being the last ones to the dinner - which was really embarrassing but not surprising.  it was a special night & i was glad to be part of it! after dinner, we headed to the local bar. the bar scene in santee, sc is exactly what you would imagine: scary. but we always have a good time and friday night was no change. put us all together and it's like our senior year spring break all over again - out of control!

{could i be any happier?}

saturday we woke up around 8am, showered, and headed to the bridal brunch in holly hill. after brunch, we drove to st. george so the girls could get their hair done. this is where we were all day until we headed to the church around 4pm. after what seemed like forever, it was finally time for our sweet friend to walk down the aisle. she looked beautiful - she legit looked like a barbie. after some pictures, we headed to the reception and things got crazy very quickly. nicole & her dad have always been awesome dancers, so after their slow dance, they broke out into this ridiculously awesome dance. nicole & charlee beamed all night, we danced and drank the night away, sang shades around nicole, chanted U-S-C way too many times, and had a fabulous time.

{bridal brunch - thanks for letting me borrow the dress rach!}

weekends like this are always a sweet reminder of what special friends i have through usc & chi omega. i'm so happy for nicole & charlee and so thankful i was able to be part of their special day. and as i sit here at my desk, barely able to keep my eyes open, i wouldn't have done last weekend any other way. congrats, y'all!
