friday night was courtney's birthday party. we started out the evening at blt at the ritz for dinner and it was heavenly. there's nothing better an life than a perfectly done steak. i organized a little get together for court's birthday at urban sip - which is also at the ritz. it's on the 15th floor and has a great view of the city. these were the cute invites from paperless post - i love that site.

so after dinner we headed up to urban sip. it was a wonderful evening celebrating courtney. she has lots of people who love her and i was glad to meet some of her friends i haven't met before. we had a great time and i even gave a toast!

saturday we woke up and signed the lease on our new townhouse! i'm so excited about the following things: living with katie, having a dishwasher, having a pantry, having my own bathroom, having more space, and TWO closets. may 1st can't come fast enough!
saturday night was the march forth with hope gala at the ballantyne. this is an organization that is near and dear to my family's hearts. to sum it up as best i can: hope stout was a 12 years old when she was diagnosed with cancer. 6 months later, hope went to heaven. this gala has transformed over the years, but still happens every year to celebrate her life and raise money to continue to grant her dying wishes. hard to believe she would have turned 21 last sunday!
my dad received the first ever "hopie" award. it was a really special moment for me - a reminder of what a great man that i am lucky enough to call "daddy." it was a great weekend - i am continually surprised that i get to call this my life.
