namaste.

sometime back in january i went to my first hot yoga class. it was 7:30am on a friday and i actually thought that i was going to meet jesus that morning. i had no idea what i was doing, it was like, hot, and i was in a spandex outfit which felt more like a spandex jumpsuit. what was i thinking? sometime in the next few weeks i decided to give it another go. i mean, if both my sisters (who are very different) love it so much, i should too! after class number 2, i was on board and decided to become a wanna-be yogi.

the studio i go to is called yoga one and it ROCKS. everyone is so friendly - and i never feel like a yogi loser. there are people of all levels in every class and there are assistants there to help you with your poses. this freaked me out at first because i don't like to be touched (especially not by sweaty strangers), but i'm getting over it. i try to go 2-3 times a week since i took the plunge and signed up for the unlimited monthly package and it's costing me a small fortune. i generally try to go on days i'm not running, but some days i'll do both.

yoga is surprisingly relaxing, a great work out, and gives me some time to turn my brain off. it's also something that sister courtney and i can do together during the week. i can feel myself getting better at it too - i can even do this pose now-a-days!

{crow pose}

so i'll continue on my pursit to becoming a yogi. even though some days i can't pull myself out of bed at 5:20am to make it to class. even though some days, i spend a lot of time in child's pose. even though other days, i want to murder the yoga instructors. cause let's be honest, the only reason i keep going is for the frozen lavender scented wash-cloth at the end and because i get to bow my head and say words i don't know the meaning to.

{oh yeah!}
