surprise!

i turned 24 this past saturday. i finally caught up to the rest of my pals that will soon be turning 25. to be completely honest, i have been dreading my birthday. i've been in a rut the past few weeks. i'm not even entirely sure what about. but this past week i cried twice because no one had planned anything for my birthday.  i have been sad about it. feeling let down again when that seems to be the only thing i've felt for quite some time. but boy, was i wrong!

i woke up at mom's house with my sweet cousin who was in town. we had pastries and then momma & i took the dogs to the (self serve) spa. we ate lunch at brixx with katie & amanda and then i headed home for a nap. i woke up late & katie made me coffee. mom was supposed to pick me up at 3pm but thankfully she was late & i had time to clean my room throw everything in the closet. then my day went like this...

-- hair shampooed and blown out at re salon.
-- pedicures (and champagne) at polished.
-- new dress from urban.
-- new jewelry to match from belk.
-- full make up done at MAC which required a handful of new make up.
-- apps and beer at taco mac.

and when i got home, i walked up the stairs to find all my pals yelling "SURPRISE!"

they got me. they got me GOOD. and as if this surprise wasn't enough, kristin was there! oddly enough, we have been friends now since january and this was the first time we'd ever actually met in person. as if this day hadn't already been perfect, kristin was the icing on the cake!

we hung out at the house for a few hours and had dinner & cake before deciding to go downtown to dandelion market. it was the perfect evening and i am so thankful. there were so many moving pieces and so many different friends & parents who made saturday happen. i am beyond blessed to have friends & family who would do something like this for me. i can't believe i ever doubted that they would make this day special.

so thank you, to all my fantastic friends and loving parents for one of my most favorite days ever. i hope 24 is the best one yet!
